The State Dr. Brij Kishor Homeopathic Medical College, Deokali, Ayodhya is one of the premier institutions of Homeopathic education in Uttar Pradesh. Nestled in the sacred city of Ayodhya the college blends the spiritual essence of the region with the pursuit of scientific and holistic medical learning. The college was established by Dr. Brij Kishore in 1972 with the objective of promoting excellence in Homeopathic education. Initially managed by a private committee, the institution played a pioneering role in spreading awareness and education in the field of Homeopathy in the region.

Subsequently, as part of the Government of Uttar Pradesh’s policy to bring all Homeopathic Medical Colleges under state administration, on 11th December 1981 the institution came under government management. This transition was implemented under the leadership and supervision of the then Director Dr. Avinash Chandra Saxena, a respected figure in the field of Homeopathic education and administration. This move ensured uniform academic standards, improved infrastructure, and enhanced public trust in Homeopathic medical education across the state. Since its inception, the college has been committed to upholding the highest standards of academic excellence, ethical medical practice, and holistic healthcare.

The college is now affiliated to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, and is recognized by the National Council of Homeopathy (NCH), New Delhi, and the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Previously, the institution was affiliated to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra (formerly Agra University). The college follows a comprehensive curriculum designed to integrate classical homeopathic philosophy with modern scientific medical knowledge.

Courses Offered

Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S.) – A full-time undergraduate degree course of 5½ years duration (including one year of compulsory internship).

Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Kumar Singh, MD Homoeopathy has joined as principal of State Dr. Brij Kishore Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Deokali, Ayodhya on 03/07/2024. He is the youngest Principal ever appointed to a Government Homeopathic Medical College through the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), stands as a remarkable example of excellence and leadership in the field of homeopathy. His achievement at such a young age reflects not only his academic brilliance but also his unwavering commitment to advancing holistic healthcare. Known for his dynamic leadership and visionary mindset, he is constantly striving to achieve new heights in academic excellence and community outreach. Prior to his current role, Dr. Ashish organized numerous medical camps with more than 2 lakh patients in underserved and high-risk regions, including Naxal-affected areas and Arya Samaj communities, demonstrating his commitment to inclusive healthcare and social responsibility. His dynamic personality and forward-thinking approach, inspires students and faculty alike, positioning the college as a rising centre of excellence in India. With a rare combination of youth, energy, and purpose, he continues to inspire a new generation of healthcare professionals.
